Mastopexy

Let’s work together to achieve a more youthful breast.

Mastopexy, or breast lift, is an aesthetic procedure that restores or repositions loose sagging breast tissue and the nipple to a more appropriate position, resulting in a more youthful appearing breast. Patients with nipples pointing in a downward direction will likely be candidates for a breast lift. In a youthful, “perky,” breast the nipple is projected at the apex of the breast mound and is forward or angled slightly in an upward direction. This procedure accomplishes this by removing excess skin, tightening the tissue, and moving the nipple. Ideal patients should be happy with the volume of their breasts. A breast lift will not enlarge the breast size, but in some cases, an implant can be added to increase the volume. The size of the nipple and surrounding areola can be reduced at this time. This surgery requires placing scars on the breast to reposition the tissue. There are many types of breast lifts which will be discussed with you at your consultation. Lifting anything heavier than 10 pounds should be avoided for at least 2-3 weeks.
