Reduction

Let’s work together to create a more manageable size.

Breast reduction is a surgical procedure to remove excess breast tissue and fat to create a smaller breast mound. Excessive breast tissue can cause a multitude of symptoms including neck pain, shoulder and back pain, headaches, changes in posture, and even rashes under the breasts. Shoulder grooving is typically present from bra straps related to the weight of large breasts. Women also may find certain activities or exercise difficult to perform due to breast tissue. Breast reductions require the use of an inverted T or anchor scar pattern. This will reposition the breast tissue vertically to lift the breast back up on the chest wall. It is important for patients to realize the scars are an aesthetic trade-off for an uplifted and smaller breast. Breast reduction surgeries take between 2-4 hours depending on the extent of the procedure. This procedure is done as outpatient surgery. Improvement of your symptoms is likely with breast reduction, however, not guaranteed.
